Job Description: Planning Engineer-Infrastructure
Location: Doha Qatar Apply Online
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized institution is required.
- A minimum of ten years' experience planning and organizing engineering and construction activities for infrastructure projects is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience working in a similar job in Qatar.
- Knowledge of the scheduling software utilized in the Project Controls Department, including the most recent version of Primavera, Claim Digger, and Schedule Analyzer.
- Ability to fulfill technical roles must be demonstrated.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry practices and regulations
Responsibilities:
- Examine and give the Engineer's approval to the Contractors' Baseline program of works in accordance with Contract requirements.
- Validation of assigned resources' compatibility for project completion on time
- Monthly cash projections and resource histograms are generated.
- Preparation of a consolidated report on the contractor's program in order to obtain the employer's approval
- Assist the Resident Engineer and Quantity Surveyor in keeping track of the project's progress against the baseline timetable.
- During progress meetings, identify potential areas of delay, highlight crucial events, and recommend / give mitigation actions to prevent those delays.
- Revise the internal schedule in accordance with the Engineer's Design / Supervision Team's opinions, design revisions, or other options, and indicate the impact on the internal schedule as a result of these actions/deficiencies.
- Assist the Resident Engineer and Construction Manager in advising the Contractor on recovery measures for off-schedule and unexpected events.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in preparing the Project/Kick-Off meeting.
- Program updates and report preparation (by weekly)
- Monthly progress reports must be prepared.
- Participate in on-site project progress meetings.
- Providing programming data feedback to the project's Senior Quantity Surveyor and Resident Engineer in response to contractor alerts.
- Commenting on the contractor's poor progress and identifying concurrent delays along the execution process
- Compilation of correspondences, drawings, and other contemporaneous records with site staff and contractor personnel coordination to examine Contractor's Extension of Time claim
- Evaluation of the contractor's claim
- Engineer's first report preparation, impacted programs employing appropriate delay analyzing approaches to support/substantiate the Engineer's recommendations on contractor's claims
