Job Description: Resident Engineer Civil

Qualifications:
- Engineering bachelor's degree (or related field)
- 15+ years of engineering experience in a related industry
- A broad general engineering background is necessary, as is previous project engineering experience.
- Professional certification may be necessary as well. Proven ability to operate in a supervisory/leadership capacity Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
- Must also have a solid understanding of current technology and be able to pick and apply relevant engineering software for project use.
Responsibilities:
- Develops the scope of engineering work, timetables, and budgets for the assigned project aspects, and oversees progress to ensure that they are met on time and within budget. Identifies and documents scope changes.
- Determines and oversees the scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets for technical parts of the contract. Interacts with Procurement and Subcontracts to help in procurement coordination with vendors/subcontractors.
- Participates in bid analysis to identify the availability and competency of suppliers.
- Examines completed work to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and procedures and acceptable quality.
- Monitors allocated technical personnel's productivity and technical proficiency and reassigns them as project demands dictate.
- Conducts performance reviews, takes corrective action as needed, and makes compensation recommendations. Also gives opportunity for training and development for allocated workers.
- Coordinates the use of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project, as well as the deployment of personnel from the company's other technical support units.
- Assists the Project Manager in the planning, directing, overseeing, and managing of the project's or study's technical, fiscal, and administrative duties. Participates in determining the technical capabilities and personnel hours required for the project's effective completion.
- Ensures that all engineering disciplines meet the client's standards and scope.
- Increases the speed with which action items are distributed following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager.
- Prepares technical reports, project manuals, and activity documentation for clients and project management.
- Acts as the Project Manager's delegate for certain tasks such as attending meetings in his/her absence, etc.
- Collects, analyzes, and distributes technical and contractual information to project disciplines.
- Change orders are reviewed and approved. All modifications are communicated to project management and other relevant staff.
- Other duties related to this function may be allocated as needed.
